The Town
Despite the growth of tourist numbers over the last 20 years, the former fishing village near the harbour and main beach at Corralejo still have charm. Its about 800m from the harbour, passing three wonderful town beaches until you get to the more residential area
The Old Town has narrow, streets, amazing seafood restaurants, quirky bars and even a fishermans cottage or two. Venture one block back from the promenade, and you find the newer part of town with a mixture of bars, restaurants, boutique shops and some of the global chains.
The buildings are low-rise, and even the new part feels like stepping back into a simpler, calmer time. As well as the calm town beaches, one of Corralejo's main attractions is the miles of sand dunes to the south of town. Very popular with surfers and kite surfers
Fuerteventura
They say that you don't choose Fuerteventura, the island chooses you. If you are lucky enough you will find Fuerteventura, famed for its dreamy line-up of Caribbean-esque beaches, wonderful water sports and relaxed seaside resorts, so it’s set to impress on the R&R front.
The resorts range from go-slow to get-up-and-go. By day, firm favourite Corralejo is a top choice for old-fashioned family fun thanks to its mix of striking sand dunes and attractions galore. By night, it’s all about the al fresco restaurants and live shows around Music Square.
Down in Jandia, we’re talking total tranquillity with an upmarket twist – not to mention some of the island’s most knockout beaches, best waves and finest seafood.
Then you have other resorts like Caleta de Fuste, another holiday favourite, and the beautiful Morro Jable right down at the south of the island
